Y10 Plas Gwynant Trip Blog

Thursday 3rd February 2022

Today (2nd February) consisted of two groups taking on Yr Aran mountain (747 meters) and another taking on Moel Siabod (872 meters)

At times it felt impossible to reach the top but with amazing dedication, perseverance, and resilience from our students they made it all the way!! Getting to the top was a MASSIVE achievement for all!! (That’s one thing ticked off the bucket list for sure ✅)

Later in the evening students got into groups and played thegg drop, a team building activity that involves collaboration, problem solving and creative teamwork. All groups had some very random ordinary materials and were challenged to design something to protect a raw egg from breaking from the top of the stairs. Team ‘Crackin’ were the winners, well done 🥳.

Overall, another amazing day and we are so proud of all our students!! 😃

Wednesday 2nd February 2022
After arriving safely around 1pm yesterday (Monday) the students immediately found out that I wasn’t lying about there being no mobile reception here.

The Wi-Fi here is VERY intermittent too and only works in certain parts of the building!

Everyone is safe and well and enjoying the activities.

These, so far, have included:

A night walk (with and without torches), gorge-walking, orienteering, abseiling, kayaking, and mine-walking.
