Learning Support Assistant

 

CONTRACT:                    Fixed contract until end of school year 2024-25 (18th July 2025)

27.5 hours / 5 days per week –   term time only

 

SALARY SCALE:                 Band B (Pt2 22,366 + SEN allowance *) *Will be pro-rata for term time/hours

 

START DATE:                  ASAP subject to clearances  

 

 

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant whose principal role is to provide in-classroom support to our SEND students, under the direction of the teacher. The role involves providing both academic support and welfare support. This is a fixed term post, starting ASAP after all pre-employment checks have been completed. We are particularly but not solely interested in applicants who have the ability to support students in Maths, English and Science at Key Stage 4.

 

 

The successful candidate should be able to offer excellent communication skills and experience of working with young people would be an advantage. Applicants must have at least a grade C or 4 in English, Maths and Science at GCSE.

 

 

This position provides excellent preparation for people who are considering careers in teaching and who are looking to gain experience of working with young people or working in a school setting.

          We are seeking to appoint a Learning Hub Manager/Academic Coach who will oversee the management of the learning hub with the other manager, and who can tutor small groups and individual students in English / Literacy up to GCSE level.

           

          The successful candidate should be able to offer excellent communication skills along with experience of working with young people. Academically you would need to be sufficiently qualified to tutor students to GCSE standard (see person specification).

           

          This position provides excellent preparation for people who are considering careers in teaching and who are looking to gain experience of working with young people or working in a school setting.
